This is an argumentative essay on a philosophy topic.  You will make an argument on some philosophy topic covered in this course this semester.  The specific topic is up to you, so long as it comes from within the scope of the material covered in the course (this includes material in the readings, even if it was not specifically addressed in a class discussion or assignment).  This essay must be at least 500 words in length and no more than 1000 words (these totals are for the body of the essay only and do not include anything else).
Points of Emphasis:
Your essay must include an underlined thesis statement in the beginning of the essay.
Your essay must include quotations and citations from course reading materials, and only course reading materials.  No outside materials may be used as sources for this course. See the list of approved sources at the bottom.  Use APA in-text citations.
A three part format is best for this assignment: brief intro paragraph at the beginning where you tell the reader what you are going to do (including the thesis statement), brief conclusion paragraph at the end where you summarize the argument, and the middle is the body where you develop the argument.

Things to Keep in Mind:
Make an argument.  Don’t just explain, make sure you are trying to rationally persuade the reader that your conclusion is true.  Use what you learned in the Logic section to make your best argument.
Keep it simple.  This is a short essay.  You want to be able to summarize the gist of your argument in a single sentence (this is essentially what your thesis statement is).
Avoid trying to use synonyms!  This is not poetry or literature.  These concepts can get confusing quick, so every time you are talking about the same thing use the same word or phrase to refer to that thing.

Approved Sources:
Every document included in the modules for this course (these are primarily chapters from books in the Very Short Introduction series, but also include excerpts from Descartes’ Meditations, Crito, Hobbes’s Leviathan, and some others)
Different chapters from works that are included in the course  (For example, you are assigned to read chapters one and two from Knowledge: A Very Short Introduction, but you can use chapter three or four from that same book as a source.)
The Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy and the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy

A. For professional writing in nursing and health care, APA style is expected. It is also expected for the remainder of your graduate program and in doctoral programs for nursing. Discuss what you have learned, or how you have improved, through completing the “APA Writing Checklist” for the course assignments and from receiving feedback from your instructors. Identify a resource in the Student Success Center or provide a helpful suggestion for classmates who are still struggling with some aspect of APA style.
B. The evidence-based practice (EBP) process is a powerful way of advancing improvements in health care. Identify three strategies that you will now incorporate into your practice based on this course. Explain your rationale.

Must Answer in order and under the same format so under each question AND PART:
Part 1: Clinical Access
Read Pomeroy: 9.2 Larry Schenk and answer the following questions
1. What strengths did you identify in Larry or Dessa?
2. What support(s) does Larry or Dessa have? What supports would you recommend if necessary?
3. What diagnoses would you want to rule out?
4. Based on the assessment provided, identify the most appropriate for your selected client (include coding, clinical criterion, and Z codes)?
5. What other information would have been helpful to developing the diagnostic formulation?
Part 2: Clinical SW
1. Please watch parts or all of Dialectical Behavior Therapy. (2013).[Video/DVD] Milton H. Erickson Foundation.
Video; https://video.alexanderstreet.com/watch/dialectical-behavior-therapy
Answer:
• List the four components of skills training, and describe how you could use at least two of them in your work with one of your current clients.
• Describe one dialectical strategy and discuss how you could use this strategy with one of your current clients. (I am currently working with youths in prison)
Part 3: SW W IMGG
Read Bernstein, H., Gonzalez, J., Bonzalez, D., & Jagannath, J. (2020, August). Immigrant-serving organizations’ perspectives on the COVID-19 crisis. Urban Institute. https://www.urban.org/sites/default/files/publication/102775/immigrant-serving-organizations-on-the-covid-19-crisis_0_0.pdf
For this discussion, you are asked to research immigrant-serving organizations relevant to your service area and explore the different range of advocacy activities of at least one of these organizations. Then, respond to these questions:
1.What specific immigrant-serving organization(s) of interest did you find?
2. Describe any policy advocacy activities that were described on the website.
3.What other activities do they engage with that would also be considered “advocacy” for improving immigrant access and integration?

prompt Pick at least three separate works, one each from the three volumes of the Norton Anthology, and show how each portrays the role of Heroes in society.
A Don’t use rhetorical questions. Always reframe those as positive statements.

Major titles should be italicized or underlined. Authors’ names need neither.

See advisories about direct references to literature in the first or last sentence of any paragraph.

Quotations would help. Just tossing in the most obvious quotation (which isn’t even actually a quotation) from Candide, but never actually using it to prove anything, only highlights the fact that you present absolutely no direct textual evidence beyond loose reference to general plot events. You make several claims about these texts but never support them through a logical argument.

Population-Specific Expertise: Specializing in areas like family care, pediatrics, geriatrics, or psychiatric-mental health, and gaining proficiency in evidence-based care tailored to these populations.
Collaborative Practice: Developing strong interdisciplinary relationships with physicians, therapists, and social workers to deliver holistic care.
Health Promotion Advocacy: Becoming a community resource for preventive health education and outreach programs.

Complete the following sections of the Week 10 Assignment Template Download Week 10 Assignment Template. The assignment should be completed on the template not including the cover page or the source page. Please use complete sentences when completing the information below:
Explain what the “Broken Windows Theory” is and how it applies to Public Order crimes. Remember to paraphrase your research.
Most public order crimes are “mala prohibita” crimes or acts made illegal only by law. For each of the below listed public order crimes, keeping in mind the Broken Windows Theory, should the acts remain a crime or should they be legalized? Why or why not? Place your response under the offense. Responses should be a minimum of one paragraph (3-4 sentences). If you are not sure of the terminology, use the Strayer Library or Google for definitions.

Prostitution
Loitering
Marijuana Possession – Possession of small amounts of marijuana for personal use

Many argue that public order crimes such as prostitution and drug possession are “victimless” crimes and therefore should be decriminalized. After reviewing the information in Chapter 14 of your textbook on decriminalization, do you feel that these are victimless crimes? Why or why not?

Objective:
To engage with food history through the lens of influencers on TikTok or Instagram, and analyze the ways in which they present and interpret historical food trends and recipes.
1. Beginning on November 1, 2024 and until November 22nd, 2024, you must watch and analyze a minimum of 5 posts from each influencer, paying attention to the types of recipes, ingredients, cooking techniques, and historical context, if any, they provide in their content.
2. Create a comparative analysis of the influencers’ approaches to presenting and interpreting recipes and food history. Consider the following questions:
– How do the influencers engage with their audiences?
– Are race, gender, class, national origin important elements of their identity and accounts? What types of hashtags do they use consistently, if at all?
– Are food trends interpreted? Is original content provided? What is the key to this account’s success?
– What kind of historical context do they provide in their content, if at all? Do they make historical recipes accessible and appealing to a modern audience? Do they connect their recipes to a broader canon of American cooking?
– Are there any differences or similarities in the way each influencer approaches cooking, recipe dissemination, and food history? You might consider each influencer’s geographic location, how often they post, are there sponsored posts, giveaways.
3. Based on your analysis, write a 1000-word reflection paper discussing your findings and insights into how influencers can be used as a platform to engage with and learn about food history. What is the biggest benefit about these platforms to learn about food, recipes, and food history? Are there drawbacks? Include examples from the influencers’ content to support your analysis. You may use quotes, screenshots, or video to support your argument and assertions.
